Wireless Speakers

Wireless Speakers

As music moved outdoors, so did the speakers.

Speaking of speakers being outdoors, electronic manufactures realized that more and more people need to listen and enjoy their music outdoors, hence wireless outdoor speakers.

Wireless speakers can also be used indoors and have become popular due to their convenience. Wireless speakers work on the same premise as a radio. The tuner, player or music receiver plays the music and a device inside the player converts the music signals into analog signals.

Then a decoder inbuilt into the speaker converts the signal back into digital and into sound. If there are other wireless devices in close proximity with the wireless speakers then this can ultimately affect the quality of the sound.

How to Wireless Speakers Work?

More and more music lovers are transitioning from the regular conventional speakers to wireless speakers. Wireless speakers are just normal speakers in appearance but rather than use a transmitter cable from the tuner to the speakers, they rely on radio frequency waves in much the same way a radio or a cell phone works.

The frequency range for wireless speakers is the same as that of wireless or cordless phones, about 900MHz. One advantage with wireless speakers is that the sound can actually be transmitted through walls. One downside of wireless speakers is that they are limited in the distance where the frequency signal can reach.

Also, wireless speakers are subject to sound distortion because the signal is transmitted in the air much in the same way that a radio transmits. Wireless speakers are simply that, they are speakers that have no wires. In today’s modern world wireless speakers are becoming ever so popular.

Wire speakers cause a lot of entangled wires and are quite messy when setting up, especially when dealing with multiple speaker systems such as home theaters.

Benefits of Wireless Speakers

They are available in most electronic shops in home theater systems, radios and CD players. Wireless speakers can be easily set up outdoors in the garden.

Types of Wireless Speakers

There are two types of wireless speakers; infra red and radio frequency.

Whenever purchasing wireless speakers make sure you test their range. As technology advances, wireless speakers are sure to replace traditional ones.
