The Panasonic DMP-BD30K is the newest DVD with Blu-ray player out there and has most of the latest features including being 1.1 Blu-ray compliant. Blu-ray means incredible full-HD images, breathtaking sound and 5x the data capacity of DVDs. It does this by up-sampling the color information in decoded video signals, while the super high-speed P4HD up-converts content recorded in 480i/p, 720p or 1080i format to 1080p by correctly generating each pixel according to information drawn from up to 60 surrounding pixels.

With Precise Digital Audio, Blu-ray’s beautiful images are complemented by exceptionally pure, accurate sound thanks to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. It also brings re-mastering to Blu-ray for the first time, which compensates for data lost during the compression process creating a fuller, richer sound.

Excellent player and with HD audio pass through’s and decoders also. Dollar for dollar one of the best buys I’ve made. It loads quickly and has a lot of features. It was also very easy to download new updates from Panasonic.

Panasonic DVD player, this is great especially on movies where a lot of the scenes are dark. It has plenty of inputs and outputs if you’re not going to go through your surround sound receiver. For the set up Panasonic DVD player was very easy. You can adjust the picture and audio setting through the menu just as easy as you would on a television set. The remote buttons are positioned for easy use and the lettering is easy to see even in a dimly lit room.

I really have nothing negative to say about this Panasonic DVD player unit, other than the fact that it takes an abnormally long time for the drawer to open. One small complaint is that it has no separate earphone jack, but I got around this by using the audio jacks in the back to route to wireless earphone system. Normally this should not be a problem if you have a working earphone jack on your entertainment control unit.

Overall, the price of them should fall pretty low soon when the stores get desperate to close them out so keep an eye out. Panasonic DVD player is a great player, I would definitely recommend this Panasonic DVD player to anyone looking to buy a stand-alone. I consider it money “well spent”.

But, I think Denon DVD player really needs to either put more useful buttons on their remote, and/or make the menus easier to access, and/or make switching to/from SD cards and Discs easier. Also, for photo slideshows, you have to search somewhere in the menus to find the setting for how long a pause you want between photos. And, there is no option for “None”, or even a very long pause.

Otherwise, the Denon DVD player is completely awesome — has a nice sleek look, plays well, upscales nicely, doesn’t take a very long time to load, and runs fairly quietly. We have ours hooked up via HDMI cable, and the video and audio are great. No complaints there. We looked at literally EVERY brand of Blu-Ray player to find one that also has an SD card player, and at the time, this is it baby! I would say it is a worthwhile purchase.

These players range from as high as $300. This is a good value for a blu-ray player with the new online features available such as Netflix, Pandora, and BD-Live. It is small and easy to install and setup. The menus look good and are easy to navigate.

Cable modem speeds in 6MB/s range so the picture quality is very good from Netflix, I’d say equivalent to upconverted DVD quality. Audio quality from Pandora is also excellent and the commercial-free music service is supreme. Blu-ray DVDs look fantastic and upconverted standard DVDs look great too.

My only little issues for this product is that the motor is noisy, which makes for a rather distracting whirring sound – much more noticeable than my standard dvd player – that is ever present in the background

Finally, this in my opinion is a great entry level player, easy to use, reasonable price and good design. I’m totally satisfied with Samsung Blu ray player and recommend it.

The picture very vivid, very sharp. I’m extremely impressed. Small slick DVD player. Does all as promised. Play PAL and NTSC DVD’s, upscales output up to 1080p. I really can tell difference compare to regular progressive scan DVD players. You can find only very little Sim and absolutely no Hay in Region 1 format discs.

The disc tray is pretty flimsy and seems to take a while to load and eject but those are minor issues for me. Don’t lose the remote though as there are virtually no controls on the actual player.
One thing is for sure, these Philips DVD players will never fall short of your expectations. You will be delighted to have such durable and performance-oriented home entertainment devices at your home. Not only this, the high costs associated with the theatre movie magic experience are also eliminated by a DVD player. The users can easily play and organise DVD format files by using them on these players. Now you can share your favorite moments with family and friends.

Sony well known not only for their quality of products, but also for their advancement of the improved technology. This one loads pretty fast. From what I read it is much faster then older models. There is only one thing that I’m disappointed with the player has the Bravia Theater Sync feature. Which works great with my Sony amp. I also watched Stop Loss on a SD DVD and that look pretty good too. The DVD player has a slot in the back for a USB drive and it also has a ethernet port so it can connect to the net for firmware updates and to access bonus features.

One of the best features of this player is its size. Sony has been able to reduce the size of the player to just over a 2″ height and only 8-3/4″ deep. Sony’s previous model was nearly 15″ deep and just over 3″ high.

But you cannot turn off Sony’s GUI control panel (Xross Media Bar) over the desktop pattern–it is always on unless you are playing a disc. I use this player with a front projector and it looks tacky for guests seeing my control panel over the desktop and for some reason the DVD remote will only control the volume for the TV not the amp. So I still have to use a second remote for volume on my Sony amp. This makes no sense to me.

Finally, I’m very pleased with the performance of this system, a good player with 2 annoyances. 4.5/5. I find absolutely no need to replace those two favorite great movies on Blu Ray because the S-350 upscales them to HD just fine! This IS an amazing player!!! I recommend this product to everyone!!!

Yes.. this is an excellent machine for its price, you are getting an HD monitor, built in webcam and microphone, silent keyboard which is perfectly sized for an adult, a beautiful interface, a lovely touchpad to turn up your volume, mute, play, fast forward and rewind… a 64 bit system with 4 GB of RAM capable of holding 8 GB of RAM… amazing..

The mouse touchpad has a scroll function on its side. this computer has state of the art audio, (the speakers of this brand are very costly), a dedicated video graphics card, and a very powerful processor. coupled with its sleek design you cannot go wrong. its versatile, and it is very easy to set up networking.

This is just my opinion and should be taken as such. Please do yourself a favor and do not install XP on this. This laptop is too great to go back to XP. AERO does look nice and this laptop should be able to run anything you throw at it. Even a clean install of Vista should not give you any problems. While XP works great for most people, do not fight change and try to give Vista/7 a fair chance.

Finally, I just hope this blu ray laptop continues to be enjoyable and doesn’t become a disappointment, later. I highly, recommend this HP Pavilion blu ray laptop.

Pros:
I have sample owned 6 blu-ray players in my store before, this one from brands like Panasonic , Sony and Samsung, all great players, but this one right out of the box shines quality, Only player I have seen to upscale to 12 bit deep color, loads fast, responds to menus well, quiet operation, will pass all HD audio bit stream and decodes HD audio, some people complain when there is no backlight on the remote, its nice but I’m not a remote critic, if it does its job then good enough. Works seemless with the picture on a Pioneer Kuro plasma, a must have.

Cons:
Firmware came as 1.00, it won’t let me play The Matrix on Blu-Ray, but Pioneer responded the next day, they will send me the 1.08 update, so be prepared to update.

Other Thoughts:
Movie makers keep messing around with the JAVA for NEW features, they need to settle down so our players don’t need an update every 3 months when a new movie comes out on disc.

Finally, Highly recommended for the moderately experienced (or expert) home theater enthusiast!! Nothing else in this price range comes close.

The Panasonic BD60K player features a PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus Digital Video processor. The beautiful images are complemented by an accurate sound achieved leading-edge audio technologies such as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. The Panasonic DMP-BD60K Blu Ray DVD player is an excellent DVD player.

The PQ for standard definition DVD is bearable on a projection screen and not the same quality as the Blu Ray DVD. I also played this DVD player through a 42″ Panasonic Plasma TV (720P) and the PQ for standard definition DVD or Blu Ray DVD is outstanding.

But, I wanted it to be as good as my Oppo 981HD DVD player so I could sell it. I didn’t want too many components. Panasonic up conversion is quite good but not as great as the Oppo.

Finally, it raises the bar on Blu Ray players that other manufactures will have to surpass in order to be able to compete on quality and price. I highly recommend the BD60 as a compliment to any current or future HD entertainment system.
