Car Subwoofers – are great for many different things

The most obvious and reason people buy them is for the increased bass. What is music if you can’t feel it?
Car subwoofers are the life of a quality car sound system. However, a lot of people don’t know what a subwoofers are and what do they do? Basically, car subwoofers are loudspeakers intended to generate the lowest frequencies, or bass end of the audible sound range. Car subwoofers are usually sold separately from other car speakers, though you can probably find an entire set that also includes a car amplifier and sub.
A subwoofer is important because it not only produces a strong bass sound, but it also relieves pressure from your standard speakers. Subwoofers are of either a passive or powered type. A passive subwoofer setup will get its’ power from the car audio system. A powered type of setup will get its power delivered independently of the car audio system being used.
These are not designed to carry low and high frequencies optimally at the same time, so devoting a subwoofer to the bass makes all of the sound clearer from every speaker. If you are installing a car subwoofer, you will also need a car amplifier with a channel for a sub, if you don’t already have one.
The amplifier provides the current needed to power your speakers and subwoofer. Match the power of the amplifier to the wattage labeled on your subwoofers. If your amplifier is more powerful than your subwoofers, you might damage your system, so make sure your components are compatible. Also be sure that you are connecting your amp and your subwoofer with high gauge connection cables.
Installation is another issue: most electronic stores and body shops offer cheap car subwoofer installation, but they are also easily self-installed. Also, be sure to carefully consider what kind of enclosure you need for your subwoofer, as different enclosures will give you different sound qualities. Get a box enclosure if you want to enjoy the advantage of adding your own amplifier and prefer the freedom of choosing your own brand of subwoofer to case in the enclosure.
Choose between a tube enclosure and a box enclosure. The advantage of tube enclosures is that they have amps built right in, and they’re easy to move if you want to shift the subwoofer’s position. Car subwoofers are large speakers that are used to create frequencies that ordinary loudspeakers are unable to produce effectively. These frequencies are usually in the range at or below 100 Hz. Small subwoofers are popular bass speakers among aftermarket car stereo enthusiasts.
Car subwoofer cones must move in and out with the longest possible extension because sound waves get longer as they get lower in frequency. Current technology provides us with firm cone materials like polypropylene, carbon and polymer laminates that preserve their shape under stress, resist moisture, and are very light. The cone works as a piston to compress and alternatively evacuate large masses of air.
Car subwoofers are constructed from heavy-duty die-cast aluminum frames and incorporate a strong 3″/7. This special design ensures a perfect reproduction of the bass frequencies and makes these speakers ideal for large sound combinations.
